What is a handpoke tattoo? Using a single use needle, my hand replicates the action of a tattoo machine. The needle is dipped into ink, which is then poked into the skin dot by dot
Are handpoke tattoos permanent? Yes. Although fineline handpoke tattoos can heal lighter, and some areas of skin fade quicker than others. With good care, your tattoo will stay looking its best
How much does a Needle & Moon tattoo cost? Handpoke tattooing is a craft that I dedicate my time and energy to, ensuring from booking to appointment you have a great experience and a tattoo you love I charge by the piece rather than by the hour. Prices are dependant on the design of artwork and placement. Designs from my pre-existing collections start at £100, and custom designs start from £130 (final costs dependant on size, placement and detail) I will always be upfront about costs in advance of your appointment I do charge a non-refundable deposit - for more information on this please see my 'cancellations and deposits' section below

How long will my appointment be? Handpoke tattooing is, by nature, a slower more mindful process, and therefore even small designs can take 2 hours to complete. I initially book a client in for a 'session' which is an initial 4 hours and once a design is settled on we will discuss together what timeframe to expect as it could take a little longer I will always include time on the day for us to get your stencil placement right before we start tattooing, and all my appointments start from 9.30am or 10am
Does having a handpoke tattoo hurt? Everyone's skin and pain threshold is different, but generally handpoke tattoos are considered to be less painful and more gentle than machine tattoos

Are you an accessible and inclusive studio? Appointments are in my private studio at my home in Portishead. There are no interruptions during an appointment, and I welcome everyone If you feel nervous please do let me know, and I will always do my best to reassure you and make you feel comfortable There is always time for comfort breaks, there are drinks available, and I have a toilet here for clients to use If you wish for this to be a completely quiet appointment, or you would like to bring headphones, and fully embrace this time for yourself, please just say, it's your experience to enjoy On arrival, there are 4 sets of shallow steps to get to my studio, and parking is on street
Can I bring a friend? My studio space is small and when tattooing I like to make sure I can be as focused on you as possible, so my preference is for you to attend your appointment alone. However, I also understand you may feel more comfortable coming with a friend. If you do want to bring someone, please let me know in advance, so I can make sure we are set up for them to join

Every appointment booked requires a deposit - this is currently £60 for a pre-existing piece from one of my collections, and £80 for a custom design
By paying the deposit you are commiting to your appointment date and time. Your deposit will be deducted from your overall tattoo cost
Before any tattoo appointment, preparation time is involved. This includes design time, drawing up your tattoo to suit your chosen placement, and following strict protocols on the morning of your appointment.
I understand that life happens, so if you need to cancel your appointment, or want to make significant changes to your design, I kindly ask that you let me know with 3 days notice.
By letting me know, this allows me to offer the appointment to another client, and gives me adequate time to prepare for any changes. Please note that additional costs may apply for design changes.
Deposits are non-refundable, yet if given adequate notice I will look to offer a re-scheduled date
